It's Been Three Long Years, Do You Still Love Me?

Last August 19, my boyfriend and I celebrated a milestone in our relationship: it was our three-year anniversary! Sadly, we weren't able to spend it together, but he wanted to at least show to me what he had prepared for me. That night, he posted a sweet message and a couple of photos of his gift on Facebook (we're not usually as cheesy and lovey-dovey in public though, ha ha). And after a few days, I was finally able to see my present and bring it home! It is perhaps the sweetest gift I've ever received.

During one of our car rides going home together, we heard this nice, old-fashioned song playing on the radio. We listened to it together, teary-eyed towards the end because we were so moved by how sweet and beautiful the story of the song was. It was the inspiration for this gift. Thank you, Andre, for all the excruciating pain you endured tying a hundred yellow ribbons 'round the triangulares plant.

Paradise in the Sun

Many moons ago, my family and I traveled north of Manila to tour around Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. Here are some pictures I took when we visited the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. Maybe you can tell from the bright and sunny sky (as well as the luminosity of these photos), but it was incredibly sunny and hot; I had to carry around an umbrella with me so that I wouldn't get sunburn.

Heat aside, it was a wonderful experience visiting this place. We had to trek towards the actual monument, passing through fields of grass, hills, puddles of crystal clear water, and a lot of rocks. Some locals offered horse rides through the path for a quicker and less tiring walk, and there were even drink vendors in some spots, ha ha. On the way, I noticed a bridge and a path being constructed, which makes me a little sad that they're adulterating the natural landscape. Oh well, at least it would make the trek to the rock formation much safer. One of my mom's friends tripped and scraped her knee, although I'm sure that the view was worth a few battle scars.

Silence

So here's what I've been busy with the past few weeks. I'm sorry for the lack of updates, my school work has been piling up, and I am busy as a bee and lazy as a sloth. One of my classes required me to read and write a paper on the hijacks of capitalist globalization on women's rights (wow, I am tired just typing that) and although it was an arduous task, it was quite enlightening as well. It's a tedious read, but I'd recommend anyone to give Hester Eisenstein's book Feminism Seduced a shot. After all, women have the right to learn about their rights, so why not right?

A Hodgepodge of Pictures

(1) coffee from Cibo
(2) my cousin's used up shoes
(3) a store that sells records, old and new, plus some other neat stuff
(4) Starbucks green tea latte, not the most appetizing visually..
(5) sakura-matcha Kit Kat!
(6) lace-hemmed socks from Japan
(7) shopping at Forever 21
(8) more coffee from PASTO
(9) super creamy hot chocolate from Mary Grace
(10) rain drops and light from the car window

These are some photos I've taken in the past few weeks with my iPhone, edited using the LINE camera app. Up to this day, the weather has been absolutely dreary; I haven't used my SLR, fearful that it'd get soaked by the rain.. Hopefully the weather improves soon, strong rain doesn't pass by without a few casualties.

Take care everyone!

When it Rains

I recently acquired an iPhone 4! It's about time I got a new phone, my old one took a solid five seconds to open messages. Anyway, here's a little video I made with the iPhone. This is just a glimpse of today's  erratic weather; the day started out grey but bright. Towards the afternoon it got darker, though still no rain. Later in the afternoon, it started raining really strong.

I hope everyone's alright! :3
